PRP WITH MICRO-NEEDLING
Micro-needling is a minimally invasive procedure by which a handpiece containing several tiny needles is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin. This stimulates the body’s healing system to produce collagen and elastin, improving the appearance of fine lines, scars, and texture irregularity. When micro-needling is combined with PRP, the benefits to improve the skin’s appearance are amplified. The micro-traumas allow the PRP to enter the skin, and the growth factors from the PRP enhance the skin’s own healing mechanisms.
WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT ENTAIL?
Blood is drawn from a vein in the arm. This blood is then spun down in a centrifuge to separate the platelet rich plasma. A topical numbing medication is applied prior to the micro-needling procedure which minimizes pain during the treatment. To treat an area, the micro-needling device is moved across the skin as tiny needles penetrate 0.5 to 2.5 mm deep. After the micro-needling, the PRP is applied to the skin for enhanced rejuvenation.
