20% and 30% salicylic acid peels, also called “beta peels,” are a safe and effective treatment for common skin problems such as acne, melasma, and brown spots. Other potential benefits of this procedure include the improvement of fine lines, thinning of keratoses, and softening of the skin. The salicylic acid peel performed in our office is a program of treatments where the best possible results are usually achieved with a series of peels.
Jessner’s can be used as either a superficial or a medium depth chemical peel, depending on your individual skin care need. They can help improve the signs of aging such as wrinkles, irregular texture, and brown spots. Scars from acne or other trauma can be improved by peels as well.
Cross technique is the application of Trichloroacetic Acid 100% into ice pick or boxcar scars, stimulating collagen production in the scar. It is very effective but may need to be repeated multiple times, typically 3 times. Cross chemical peel method does not treat the full face, however TCA is placed in focal areas of acne scarring. Patients can experience significant improvement.
Melanin creates the pigment of our skin and lives within our skin cells. When melanin is overproduced, the skin exhibits hyperpigmentation or spots. VI Peels focus on lifting and exfoliating those skin cells to allow our body to produce new cells that are healthier and less pigmented. The process of exfoliation also smooths the surface of our skin creating a softer smoother texture. VI Peels also can address multiple skin issues simultaneously, from texture, to pigment, to acne, all in one in-office visit.
